Jessica Lavenda began her dance training on Long Island, New York. She has taken part of the Alvin Ailey summer intensive, Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts, and the Peridance Blueprint intensive. Lavenda will graduate in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Montclair State University. She has performed works by Ohad Naharin, Sidra Bell, Nancy Lushington, and Maxine Steinman. Lavenda has had the opportunity to perform at New York Live Arts, St. Mark’s Church, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and the Contemporary Dance Series at Bryant Park. She was awarded the Long Island Arts Alliance Scholar-Artist award in 2017.
